A 3D laser scanner is a high-speed measurement device that acquires data at tens of thousands of points per second over a full 360° range around a machine. It calculates distances by sending laser light back and forth between the scanner and the object without direct contact, obtaining three-dimensional coordinate values based on the angle and distance of the emitted light. After measurement, the data can be used to create 2D CAD drawings and 3D models tailored to the customer's needs.
